Learning with Shane

Since the beginning of Shane’s career as a full-time musician, he has committed to sharing his ever-expanding knowledge of technique, performance, and theory to students of all ages. Starting in New Orleans, Shane met a young trombone player pursuing jazz trombone. After mentoring the student every day for a month covering trombone technique, jazz theory, and building a practice regiment, teaching has remained a constant pursuit and passion for Shane.

High school students pursuing a college scholarship, complete beginners, and adults returning to the instrument after decades off have all enjoyed success working with Shane individually. Shane’s experience teaching and lecturing across the country has taught him how to work with students of all skill levels and temperaments. Every student recieves an individualized lesson catered directly to their needs.
